Moving...

I'm moving this blog to another location.

http://surgicalartistrymindtransfer.blogspot.com/

A junk yard repository.

Jeff Barson

He's the one behind the blogs:

To be honest I have very little confidence that squarespace would live up to my expectations. I've been more than pleasantly surprised. In fact, every site but one (Surface Medical Spas) http://www.surface-med.com/ has been built or switched to squarespace. Here's the list:

Simple Curiosity? - Daily posts to tickle your thinking bone.
Medical Spa MD: Information for physicians in retail medicine.

Nimble Theory: My other business blog about technology startups & angel investing.
Pony tail Club: My daughters blog about her riding academy and horses.
Kid Agent: My sisters site as a child agent in Hollywood.
Fight Club: A networking blog for entrepreneurs. (Since rolled into Nimble Theory)

medical spa md

http://www.medicalspamd.com/ = uses squarespace.com, retail medicine.

http://fightclub.squarespace.com/ for entrepreneurs - same author as above.

Everyone has a blog - even SEO companies such as Page1solutions

http://page1solutions.squarespace.com/journal/

This is a blog for lawyers who have webpages.
I found this through a google search - looking for page1solutions as the search term. I was really looking for a roster of webpages that they design, so they can eventually help us with ours.

Lipodissolve response

Hi Gabriela, Thank you for visiting our blog.

Dissolving small areas of fat with injection has not had enough research done to back up its claims. It is also not FDA approved. However, we will let our readers know when it meets those standards.

I would like to mention that other procedures, like liposuction, do produce predictable results. And as a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon I would be happy to consult with you personally about various options. If you’d like to set up an appointment please contact my office. We’d love to hear from you.

Michael Toschi

Does that name mean anything to you? It means shoes to some.

Michael Toschi himself came to Modesto, CA to Rossini's Menswear.

Performance Luxury: Comfort, technology, and beauty combined.

They were selling Vecchia Mano - Made by Hand shoes. They say that the shoe can last 20 years. And it will cost you $1600 dollars per pair.

Made in Italy.... so lag time??

Arimidex

ARIMIDEX is approved for adjuvant treatment (treatment following surgery with or without radiation) of postmenopausal women with hormone receptor-positive early breast cancer.

Aromatase is an enzyme that is found in the liver, fat, muscle, and breast cancer cells

In women who are postmenopausal, aromatase changes androgens (hormones produced in the adrenal glands) to the hormone estrogen

Some breast cancer tumors grow when the hormone estrogen is present

ARIMIDEX is a medication called an aromatase inhibitor. ARIMIDEX works by blocking aromatase, therefore reducing the amount of estrogen in the body

Also I've seen patients spell this Arrimidex - sounds like an arrhythmia of sorts?

Nuvaring Birth Control / Nova-ring

Why is this on my mind... a patient brought it up... that's enough said.

NuvaRing® is a different kind of birth control. The comfortable, flexible contraceptive ring that is about two inches in diameter is used to prevent pregnancy. You insert NuvaRing® into the vagina just once a month. The muscles in your vaginal wall will keep NuvaRing® in place for three weeks. During that time, it will slowly release a low dose of hormones that are needed to prevent pregnancy.

When 21 days are completed, simply remove NuvaRing® to allow your body to have its menstrual cycle. After a seven-day break, you will insert a new ring to continue to be protected against pregnancy.

How does it work?

NuvaRing® contains two types of hormones, estrogen and progestin (just like the pill), that prevent your ovaries from producing mature eggs. NuvaRing® provides benefits similar to oral contraceptives, but without the daily pill-taking routine.

The hormone release is activated by contact with the vagina. The walls of your vagina absorb the hormones and distribute them into your bloodstream. Because of this method of administration you get 99% effectiveness (when used as directed) with a low dose of hormones.
NuvaRing® provides low and steady hormone delivery. This steady, consistent release means NuvaRing® has fewer hormonal ups and downs than daily or weekly birth control methods.

I have seen some of the patient spell this Novaring

There's nothing we haven't seen

35,000 physicians are on this somehow. It is a physician only community.... Not sure what this is about (yet) They offer a $15 amazon gift card. the promotion is to type MDCOMMUNITY into the promotion box.

Is this free?

Addicus Books

I got something in the mail personally from www.addicusbooks.com
They are looking for plastic surgeons to publish some topics.

Publish / Write your own book

Oprah says,

Last Christmas, a woman in Texas gave everyone in the family her recipes bound into a book as beautiful as any of Emeril's. At a college reunion in California, 100 alumni received a book called That Was Then, This Is Now: Essays by the Class of 1992. And when her twins turned 21, a mother in Florida gave them each a volume she'd been writing since their birth: To My Daughters. Although self-publishing has been around for a long time, Print on Demand (POD) technology has made it much simpler and cheaper to create books that look as professional as any you'd find in Barnes & Noble. How It WorksYou send your text in a word processing program to an online POD company; they design the book and print as many copies as you want, as often as you want. Getting printer-ready can cost as little as $199, with each copy setting you back another $5 to $12. If you're willing to part with more money, you can also publish your own full-color picture book or comic book, photo album or art portfolio (xlibris.com offers a package that starts at $999). A Few CaveatsThe less-reputable firms skimp on paper stock and production values—so ask to see a sample before you sign the contract. And watch out for extras: Most companies will try to sell you additional services, such as proofreading and marketing—but publishing pros feel the latter aren't very effective. Selling Your BookIf you want to sell your books, pick a POD company that has an online store and will list you on Amazon.com's and Barnes & Noble's websites; and invest in a book or course on Internet marketing. A few industrious writers have sold as many as 5,000 copies this way—but they're the exception. To become a best-selling or prizewinning author, you'll need to find an agent and a traditional publisher. But for a lot of people who have always had a book in them, POD is a digital dream come true. Some of the Best-established POD Companies

When to replace breast implants if there had been no complications?

My personal philosophy on this issue is the following:

If someone has had breast implants for a long time (does not matter how long > 10 years), and they are perfectly happy with the results of the surgery, and they do not have any complications, I tell these patients to leave them alone. The implants are safe and durable. Who is to say that the next set of implants that they get will not spontaneously leak or break within1 year, 5 years, or 9 years, in which case they may need to have them replaced again. They may also develop complications from an unnecessary surgery, and it is worthwhile to weigh the risks and benefits.

However, if someone wants to always have a warranty on their implants, then they would have to replace it every 10 years, as the warranty runs out at the end of the 10th year.

If someone has complications, breast pain, abnormal shape, or capsular contracture, then regardless of how long after the implantation, I would recommend a formal evaluation. After the evaluation, then I will make my recommendations as to what course of action to take.

Rare Web Pages

http://www.surgerytoday.com/plasticsurgeryessay/
http://www.surgerytoday.com/restylane_modesto.htm http://www.thinkstrings.com
http://www.wuplasticsurgery.com

These are some rarer web pages.... I haven't worked on these much at all.

This is truly a musing...

Paid some bills

How come bills are always higher and higher? They keep going up. That must be some rule of nature or something. The electricity here is about 400 bucks. The phone lines are about 400 bucks.

Wow. Well, the accounts are about $2000 bucks per year - this sounds like a good deal considering how much we pay in just utilities and phone lines.

Soi Candles.

Soy Candles
· Support local business: These candles are hand made by a company (The Soi Company) who has ties to Modesto and Walnut Creek, California. And we are an official partner vendor of Soi Candles.
· Better for your health and environment: Clean, soot-free burning. These candles are dye free as well. Soy is a renewable vegetable resource, unlike paraffin which is a petroleum product.
· Safer: Melted soy is at a cooler—lower temperature than melted paraffin wax. Thus safer for small hands.
· Good for your skin: Melted soy can be used as a skin moisturizer—yes you can dip into the pool of melted wax, just be careful of the buring flame.
· More value: Soy candles burn 40% longer than regular wax candles

Sushi Gardens

sushi Gardens.... ahhh... that's where we went today. My turn on the bill end.
The 4 of us ate till we couldn't eat anymore. The line there wasn't out the door like the other days and we even got a great parking spot.

After that we sent off some Soi Candles to be sent off as gifts. Tax included, to make the tax man happy.

We sell these soi Candles for about $25 dollars. I wonder if people would appreciate these as gifts. I also wanted if they would be sold well.

Back to work

Now that work is done (finished seeing some patients). I think it's now time to eat.

Hmmm... how about:

I guess the bottom line is... let's see where she wants to eat:

Kristin Lee, Violinist

Modesto symphony Concert featured 21 year old violinist Kristin Lee. She is currently in her last year at Juilliard. This being her 10th year at Juilliard due to her time spent as a Pre-College student. Her teachers include Dorothy DeLay, Catherine Cho, and Itzhak Perlman.

She played the Mendelssohn violin concert in E minor. She played it well with great musicality. I heard slides that reminded me of Itzhak Perlman - the influence is evident. She had firm control of the of the double stops and octaves in the second movement and full control over her wonderful trills.

During the second movement (of the Saturday performance), there was an audience member who fainted due to medical problems, but she continue to captivate the audience despite the ushers and audience doctors who were trying to help. We hope the woman is ok. The last movement was played lightly and very bird-like, as it was intended in my mind. She had full control of her instrument and didn't seem strained.

Bravo.

What did I do today?

I flew back to Modesto... from the East Coast.
That was not without working on http://www.breastguide.com entitled Modesto Breast Augmentation.
I couldn't figure out why the page rank dropped to 2. I believe it was 4 before. But before then the website was dedicated to breast cancer. Must be a judgemental thing in terms of importance by Google.
